Level II Period One

Develop treatment, type-in and discuss with class. Begin filming.

Level I Period Two

Review and the present “All The President’s Men”; first, discuss for clarification. Opening sentence review:

The Washington Post was under pressure from the government, but Bob Woodward, played by Robert Redford, and  Carl Bernstien, played by Dustin Hoffman, used multiple sources to confirm their story. Integrity was key.

Re-visit Frontline to see actual footage of Bob Woodward discussing standards and  practices.

Read the Isaacson story in TIME magazine. Discuss  marked points on handout. Focus on the Henry Luce quote, while considering what you’ve learned about corporate obligations. Why did  Luce see a danger in advertising? What would the world be like without newspapers?

Show Isaacson on Jon Stewart – discuss http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=217707&title=walter-isaacson.

 Level II Period Three —

Compare “Any given Sunday” with “The Idol Makers.” Watch for similarity in sound and shooting technique.
